Finally back out and I get the weird finds

Been kinda laid up for better than a week. I was doing some around the farm chores when I went down on one knee to check air pressure in the ATV tires. Immediate feel like a hot torch under the right knee followed by a popping sensation when I tried to lift the knee. For about 4-5 days I could barely lift that leg to put on socks, underwear, and pants. Popping pretty much gone now but still pretty sore.
Anyways I got out today and just walked a wandering pattern on the big lawn on campus. I was trying to just dig the better tones as the hurt knee is my primary “going down to check the plug” knee. Slower getting up than going down.
Didn’t find a whole lot but I did get a solid 48 vdi on the Legend. I kinda figure it was a bottle cap but this was sharp and very repeatable from four angles. Well pooh, just dig it up. Up came a nice mens Seiko wristwatch! A bit discolored but in otherwise good shape. Depth was 4-5” as I remember.
Next find kinda has me puzzled. It was hitting 45 so thats most likely a copper penny, I was hoping for a wheat or IH. Nope, it was a zincoln with a cut out!!!! Never seen one of these so it will stay in the curiosity bowl.
Ya get what ya get…….

Sorry to hear about your knee and glad it’s starting to feel a bit better. Nice Seiko wrist watch and someone did a great job at stamping a cross through that penny!
Hope your knee feels better.

Those are both neat finds... That Good Luck Cross Penny might not have lasted much longer... It's almost like you were meant to find it...
I empathize greatly with your injury... My knee injury ended me working as a framing carpenter... I learned very Crisply how all of the muscles are connected... Scratch an itch on your nose... And the knee hurts you in an indescribable hell... I'm glad it's feeling better...

Ron hope your knee is in the mend,. I dug one of those crosspennies a while back. Seems a guy in 1998 started Cross Pennies Ministries and has stamped over 7 million of them. He gives them away, won't sell them. I tried to post the link but not very good at those kind of things. Nice watch. Good luck. Mark

I highly recommend one of these Ron.

That Seiko is a nice find. Pretty good watch's, my crew gave me one for Christmas, back in about 1983 and quite honestly, I'm not sure its lost a second of time over the years. Haven't checked what they sell for today, but the one you recovered might be worth checking on the cost of repair....if the innards are repairable. Curio's are always fun! HH jim tn

First I rolled my ankle last December (recovered) then tweaked my left shoulder in May (getting better) now this knee. I swear if I get to point I cant lift that shot glass….

Wait till you reach over to pick up a receipt that fell on the floor... And throw your back out.... Good Times... Good Times... :drinking:

Turn 69 this November, Dr told me to stop lifting weights so now I have to sit down to go pee……
