finally an "O"

got out a little in the park, not feeling very well and hunted an area void of most anything but can slaw. finally got a VDI 74. thats unusual, but not the first one i have had since the aquisition of the MXT. and it was a tiny .925 Thialand silver ring. i mean little- maybe a toe ring. VDI of 77-78 area is a penny or dime mainly. pennies are all over from 50-77. a quarter is an 83 and a nickel is 18. but 74-- sweet number....

Nice find. Also the older copper Lincoln and wheat cents will ring up in the mid 74-78 range also. I bet that's a pinky ring since it's so small. Silver toe rings are usually open on the underneath side. Great finds for sure. HH,Nancy

thanks folks! Nancy i had an Indian Head ring up real low. i am going to take an assortment from past adventures and test them all on VDI numbers. most clad is consistent except a zinc. they will come up screwcap a lot. i guess it depends on the metal composition. my next machine will be a pro with the tones i think. need to find that yellow stuff to pay for it. freshwater beach time coming up after the fourth crowds.

Good luck with the beach hunting. Can't wait to see what all you find. I love a good beach hunt and I'm jealous. Go get them............and HH, Nancy
