Hey everyone!

I have been more of a lurker on here, and haven't found anything too cool yet. I have been metal detecting about four months total now. I am very proud of these haha... Hope all is well! 89 dollars in clad. My first Wheat Penny found two days ago!

Here is the clad!

you finding those wheats is a good sign you might be in a good area for silver keep it up and research the finds will come. Keep it up! HH

That's a sack full of clad, so you obviously know how to use the machine. Now you just need to get into areas where the silver is. That's the same way it happened for me. I found my first silver this year back in March and now have 69 silver coins. Don't be afraid to knock on doors. I find a lot of my silver in private yards. Congrats on that first Wheat. The silver's just waiting for you to find it!

Good Job Scharf! I am sure you were excited to see that pop out of the ground after all of the other newer coinage..Is the CTX your first detector?

I borrowed my friends E-Trac for 1 of those four months, and it got me hooked. So I then bought the CTX! I live in FL so I thought it would be best with all the rain. But yes, I love it!

I agree with Mason Jarr time to hit some older homes your old coin count well go way up .That will be the sweetest wheat you will ever dig being your first can't wait to see you post your first silvers. sube

There will be many many of those while your using a Minelab CTX 3030. Silver count will go thru the roof!

Scharf, its time to ask permission to the oldest homes in town, silicone the lesche and be ready to dig....
Quack

Way to go scarf. I to am new to the sport. I only have about 9 silver coins. But also 2 silver rings and a nice big silver locket. I am finding in my area all the older sites are worked so hard that I can't even find a pull tab. The newer areas that likely won't have silver are loaded with clad and are alto of fun for awhile and great practice. A couple ways I have found some silver is to go to non obvious places in the parks and the really trashy areas in parks that the old timers had trouble with the older machines. One other areas I find some is vacant city lots and old gravel parking areas of shut down factories. I found a merc and a rosy in one of these parking lots. It's funny that whenever I'm in the park working close to a road there will be a old timer that stops and tells me how much silver they used to get. Man it's like they all had metal detectors. Love to chat with them tho, and they always give me some tips.

Sounds like your enjoying it as much as I am. I'm to the point now I just relax and enjoy the sunshine and the outdoors oh and all the nice dogs people are out walking, I can hardly keep all there names straight anymore. The cool finds start to roll in one here one there.

Hope you make more good finds soon.

Appreciate it everyone! I am going out to MD now, I have permission from a house in an area from 1880s! Hopefully some finds! Take Care!
