Final update on the lost wedding band............:surprised:

This is something I did not expect. I was hopeful that the young man would just pay my mailing expenses for Priority Mail to Colorado to return his lost wedding band. He had lost it while on vacation at Virginia Beach and we were also on vacation, doing some detecting on the bay side at the same hotel. He approached us and was frantic about finding his wedding band since it was custom made and had 8 diamonds in it and he was leaving to return home the next day. I told him if I found it that I would return it to him. He left his name, address and email. It was a couple of days later when the tide was at a very low point because of the full moon, I was able to locate the ring in chest deep water. I did not ask for a reward, and it was exciting just to find it and be able to return it to the rightful owner.

I'd rather deal with lawyers than insurance snakes.
At least the lawyers don't pretend to be anything but a sidewinder.

Way to go Bobbie, the owner of the high school ring i returned a few weeks ago sent me a check for 60.00, 10 for priority mail and insurance and 50 for my detecting needs, came in handy, building some new scoops

I dried it out, cleaned it up, located the owner and sent it off with a note. Had to call three weeks later and ask "if he got it".
I keep a lot more finds now, people can't even say thanks anymore.:sadwalk:

Otherwise it's a case of 'thank you universe for giving me this lovely gift'.;) If somebody asks for my help in locating something I am glad to help within reason.
I like to get in my good deeds whenever I can but let's be honest mate, 'there's just no pleasing some people'. I ain't nobody's momma!

Wow - very nice thank you!!! The first ring I found this year was a class ring from a local high school. I mailed it to the kid after contacting him and he was very thankful to me on the phone.

I didn't even think about it again, but about 3 weeks later I got a thank you note in the mail telling me he really appreciated me finding it and contacting him and that he was happy that someone like me had found it and not kept it. Enclosed was a gift certificate for $50 at a local restaurant!!! :)

bobbie

it is good to see a nice payback for one of our good deeds. too many times we go through a lot of trouble and get nothing for our efforts. sometimes not so much as even a thank you.
they defin appreciated what you did!!!

GREAT JOB!!
