Final hunt for 2014

Went back to the abandoned house tonight for a couple hours only - the temp was dropping fast and the wind was starting to pick up so I kept it short. Ten feet away from where I found a silver dime last time I got a nice "91-92" signal...clear and crisp...and found the neat dolphin ring next to where the driveway used to end. My goal for tonight was to pull one silver coin, but the .925 ring is close enough! I expect my girlfriend or daughter will lay claim to it in a heartbeat, so I'd better post it up here while I still have possession LOL

Got one Wheat about 7" down, and all other deep coins were 1960s and 1970s Memorials. Found a couple aluminum buttons as well, I think they rang up around "82-83" and sounded almost exactly like a Wheat. There's something about aluminum targets that makes them sound a little chopped - even these round buttons didn't *quite* sound like copper coins even though the total conductivity is nearly the same. Screwcaps sometimes have great audio, but what gives them away a lot of the time is the pinpoint size. Even still, I can't help but dig them many times since some of the most interesting tokens ring up around screwcap/zincoln range!

Looking forward to a great year detecting for 2015 - as 2014 was probably the BEST year I've had so far. Found more in 2014 than I did in the last 10 years with other detectors, and I've never been SO devoted to learning a new machine, but I feel the Deus needs that sort of attention. This year I plan on moving out to Colorado and starting nugget hunting soon afterwards. Should have the right machine for the job!!! And there's always a large metropolitan area FULL of rentals houses to check out should I get tired of nugget hunting...

Have a nice rental house lined up for New Year's Day and hopefully will start off the year right!

Nice final 2014 hunt. I am going to get out tomorrow one way or the other to end the year with a bang cuz I got nothing on today's 2 hour high school hunt looking for recent ring drops but a hand full of clad!

Nice job on the ring CZ--I know what you mean on the jewelry; the women just love the stuff.

I spent three years in Colorado Springs, so if you're headed that way and need any info before getting there, give me a holler. Are you moving there or just visiting?

Congrats again and good luck in 2015!

Nice going Taylor! I can see why the girls would want that ring. It's very unusual looking. Good luck tomorrow.
