Final Habitat Sweep:thumbup:

Got up and hit the Forum 4:30-5am ish (Tabman time)...jumped in Rosie and headed out at 6:30...Heading for the Big Lake, whipped past that Habitat for Humanity construction site where I got the Indian, Barber dime and Walker half earlier this year...I've been keeping my eyes on the dirt pile all Summer waiting for the final rakeout and respread of it, to see if I missed anything...It was still in a stack earlier in the week, but today it was semi graded out, so of course I had to hit it!

Got 5 wheats is all, earliest was a 33, a pair of 44's a 58, and a another one I cant remember..and a few pieces of scrap..so I guess I didnt miss much of anything from the original hunt..F70 with the 11"dd, set up 45 sens..easy shallow work in the top layer....Then I had to rush right home on account of I'm supposed to be taking care of the dog and G'maw this weekend, and I forgot to lay out her liver pills, and mix up a bowl of pablum with molasses ...the Wife left me in charge, well, not permanent, just to go to her Ashtabula High School reunion for the weekend...so I'm sort of shut down regarding hunting for interim, might be able to sneak in a short nearby hunt if theres a Tigers game on today...

Its a perfect day to be out hunting! I hope somebody here gets out and gets into something interesting to read about..
Mud.

not here it is pouring out  You made some great finds out of this little lot. Are they razing more homes in the area?.....

I'm watching for it Jim!...they are tearing up the old local school grounds doing a sewer line install I may get a chance to ransack..I have found silver here in the past, so it may be worth a shot...I have been looking at some alley work, especially the old dirt alleys that lead from the old schools to the older parks in town...I did one a few weeks back and got some clad, as you can imagine, theres all sorts of junk in there too, so its a noisy mess...remember when we were kids? those alleys were our main playground, fighting sites, smoking and travel routes...full of coal clinkers, nails and scrap! Still, I was happy with the performance of the rig picking coins on through them...If a fellow had a bit of pluck, (which I dont) he would get involved with the Habitat people to get the inside info on the future builds in an area...I would, but am afraid I'd get lassoed into drywalling or somesuch... Like a lot of old guys, (Hank Hill) I cant help myself but to get involved when theres construction going on!

Nice beauties, Mud.

Ashtabula High School. Now there's a name I haven't heard in a lifetime. Born in Akron in 49 myself.

Never figured you for a fellow buckeye!!

Yeah, Hightone? Never figured me for a Buckeye? Is that because I seem moderately intelligent and have the propensity to wear shoes and use big words or what? I'm a native Wolverine!:punch:

The Wife was born in Ash in '50...I get down to the blimp hangar in Akron from time to time for business at Allied Electric...boy, there sure is a lot of fracking going on in that Akron/Canton and east area! I was born in Lansing MI in '59, no fault of my own, just the way it worked out.....But, I grew up @20miles west of Toledo in my formative teen years, met my Wife in Minnesota of all places in the late 70's....Ohio has about the perfect climate and some really old dirt! I generally toss a handful of zincs out the window when I'm driving past Eltons exit west of Cleveland though, and clean out his totlots just on the principle of the thing...I figure its the least I can do....West Mi is not that far away...you should make a run up here and let me put you onto some West Mi gold if you ever get the chance!....

You got to jump on every opportunity that you get to find the good stuff. It looks like you did really good at that construction site.

Those curbs and walks look like they need a good looking over.

Yeah, Tab you are right, I did what I could with the gear, skill and grace I learned here..also, thanks for the Genie rub!....
