Filled another long empty hole in my coin book...

REVIER

Well-known member
This morning I figured out some stuff and realized I had just learned to hunt for, recognise and actually find older coins in my southern mineralized devil dirt.
I wrote it up and how I did it in the Fisher forum for anyone that cares to know.

After doing chores today I stepped off my porch and hunted my lawn again to practice what I learned and two more wheaties flew out of the ground for me.
One of them was a beautiful green one with sharp features like it was dropped not long after someone picked it up new at the bank.
The remarkable thing is this is a 1913s...and it just happened to fill an empty hole in my memorial cent collector book I have been dragging around with me for 50 years.
My good camera is still missing so only a phone pic but trust me...this thing is just way cool.
Love this hobby and how it can make me so happy by finding such a little thing like this.

I also collect coins that I find with my metal detectors.
I put the the more common coins in Harris folders ...
Indians, Mercs, Silver Rosies, Wheat Cents, State Quarters, clad coins etc. - have approx. (900) different coins in approx. (20) different folders now.

I've found that the more time I spent handling coins - the more I learn about them.
Besides, sometimes finding something like a Wheat Cent or a State Quarter you need for one of your folders is more fun than just coming home with some new pocket change !

Good Hunting !

Nice finds
