[/img] Got out to do some detecting this was where a old church use to stand it's about a 100 yards in front of the old cemetery The dead grass was about 4 inches high yea I forgot the 17 inch coil will be going back anyhow I was doing more testing here hard but doable since the grass was so tall .

I had dug 2 old cans that were 7 inches deep and then I hit another target that I could get about a foot off the ground I wasn't going to dig but I'm glad I did it's a beautiful pocket watch don't know what it's made of yet as I was looking at it there's a church right in the middle of it wonder if it's a picture of the church that use to stand there . It is gold in color but have found no marks on it when I hit it read 12.47 might be gold plated silver but it's a beauty .

The coins I found here were only 4 inches to 6 inches deep but I had 4 inches of dead grass to go though I know the 17 inch coil will light some more up .May try tomorrow but looks like rain if not I will be out swinging. sube

Incredible! I live vicariously through you folks back East!

In Southwest WA I have found a few old school or church locations (early 1900's) but it's tough to get access. Most are State or Fed protected and if private I have yet to get permission; very protective of their dirt.

The watch case on the inside back cover says Philadelphia watch case co (victory) warranted 10 years

According to the information in this encyclopedia article, the Victory mark was used by the Philadelphia Watch Case Company to designate a lesser grade of gold-filled watch case, guaranteed for 10 years (either gold filled or rolled gold plate). Whether gold filled or plate, the important thing to note is that it's not solid gold, and with only a 10-year wear guarantee, they pretty much used the least amount of gold possible in the making of those cases.

The Philadelphia name was in use from approximately 1888 until 1904 when they got absorbed by the Keystone Watch Case Company. The hand scratched numbers are watch repairer marks, and are not helpful in determining anything about the age of the watch

Very nice! Have been following you testing for the last few weeks and appreciate you taking the time. Looks like you're being rewarded for your efforts.

Keep it up.

You sure have been going to Church a lot lately!

Seems to be working for you. Nice finds. Keep it up.
