I don't think that will be much use for digging. Might work alright for a beach scoop if you drill 5/8 holes in it.

Hey that is sad/funny at the same time. I have a nice folding camp shovel (Army Surpluss) I nevr used it. The price was good though, Beale.
 
Probably not much good as a beach scoop.

It's all steel and heavy.

did you get the $4 shovel at walmart also???? i went lookin for one here in new jersey ( a great place to be from ) and couldnt find anything like it.... i noticed the label said AMES.... we used to have ames department stores here years back.... but they all closed up....

I bought one of those folding camp shovels...BULLDOG brand...Mine bent up the same way on the first hole I dug...Now I will buy only army surplus entrenching tools....
