Field Season Is Starting!

Went out yesterday to check out some fields, first we stopped at an old house that we have hunted before and this time picking were slim, I got a 1920 Wheat and a Sterling Silver bracelet. We went across the road to check a field that the old maps indicated a house site, we spent about a half hour but could not find any evidence of a house. We then drove to check some fields that we have permission on but the crops have not been cut. We then went to this small field that I knew had been cut. Last Saturday we saw that it had been cut and did about a half hour there and I got two buttons and a glass marble. This site is a bit of an enigma, the maps clearly show a house site on the 1874 map but in hunting it a few times last year the best I found in coins were a few wheaties, I did get a few artifacts and the best thing I found in it was a ¾ grooved stone axe of museum quality. Today if finally gave up an old coin. About 5 steps into the field I got a 12-34 signal and after turning the dirt I saw the green disc it was the most grotty looking Indian Head that I have dug in quite awhile but I was glad to see it. The date was 1888. I then found a nice clay marble, I really like them! The next good target showed that you can never tell what may be found in a field it was a 12-35 jumping up to 12-37 a turn of the shovel showed a small disc in the ground. At first I thought it might be a token but it turned out to be a 1941 50 Centimes French coin!
