Few recent road trips

Had the week of Hurricane Sandy off as a vacation week, naturally, but I did manage to hunt a little before and after she hit. Made a trip to Plymouth and a couple of trips to my favorite Seated Park, and pictured are the finds. Probably sounding like a broken record by now, and I should probably shut up lest any locals go out and get an Explorer with SEF coil, but the coins I am finding just boggle my brain. Simply dumbfounded by the variety and quantity of what I am finding. In my 2nd of 2 trips to Seated Park, I was, believe it or not, just a seated away from a dime slam. Got 5 silvers and 61 totals oldies out of a place that was was pretty much written off as hunted out. Got a real nice 1848 large cent in Plymouth, along with a couple of silvers also, and got over 70 oldies of that hunted out park.

And in case I haven't stated how amazed I am with my SEF coil, I took a trip yesterday to Newport RI to a small park that I had hit 11 times before with my XS, but figured I'd give the SEF coil another big test. Thought since I'd grabbed quite a few Indians there previously, that I should be able to sniff out a few more. Boy was I happy I went there! Hunted about 6.5 hours yesterday and got the following: 20 wheats (3 1910's the oldest), 7 Indians (oldest 1883), 1864 2-cent, 1857 and 1875-S MM in Wreath Seated dimes, both in the same hole!, 1913 Barber dime, 1863 New Brunswick penny and an amazing shape 1717 English Farthing, plus a large silver ring.

My arms were toast after all the hunting, so I'll get pics of all that stuff up on Wednesday, but wanted to at least get the pics up of the past few trips. Suffice to say, I realize that EVERY place I ever hunted in basically my 21 years of doing this needs to be redone, since I know there's gotta be a whole lot more that I missed.

HH All- back some time Weds with more pics.

You dont see a lot of that quanity anymore coming from a park.... outstanding hunt. Even pounded parks seem to have their giving days.... right machine and coil and you are doin the happy dance. Well done.

Great finds Jeff. It's amazing how much stuff is still left in these old parks if you have the patience!
