Few more from the old house...

I went back to the old house I had been hunting that I posted about in the past. When I first got there, I was watching a hawk in a tree right above my truck eating something. I was just getting ready to hunt when what I thought was a small stick landed on the hood of my truck. I went to get it off and discovered it was a mouse tail. I guess the hawk had a good meal.

I hunted in an area that I had hunted over before but I wanted to use a different coil this time. I Ended up getting two Indians, 1906 and 1907,two V nickels,1909 and cant make out the other one, a barber dime, 1906, a 1965 dog tag, two old button type things, One says handhook, pat Aug,22 05, the other I cant make out yet, and some gold plated cuff links I think, and a fishing lure that I almost got stuck with.

The nickels were about 6 inches deep and the Indians were about 7 each.
The barber was the toughest coming in at 11 inches. The cuff links were about three inches and the buttons were about 5 inches.

You really got to love the V3 when you know how to make it work for you!

Nice hunt Magic! You are getting some great finds as of late. Picking out those low conductive targets is impressive. I am going to try and get out Saturday for a hunt. This inspires me, thanks for sharing.

Which coil did you end up using on this hunt? Great finds, I really enjoy seeing them the Indians and the Barber..are great.. I've gotta find a place with some V's..never found one of those.

I have been working and tuning in the 10x14 Excelerator coil. I had bought it for my DFX and thought I would see how it does with my V3. Not sure if they sell them anymore for Whites??

Very nice Magic!!

That's one good site you have there. I'm sure there is more there. Rob

Nice finds, Magic. That lure looks like an early Hawaiian Wiggler. Might be collectable. I'm old enough to remember having caught fish with a similar one.

Magic, I am very interested in the outcome of your 10x14 coil for the V3. I had one for the DFX and loved it. Wish I would not have got rid of the unit now. That 10x14 worked awesome on the DFX. But that was comparing to the stock 950.

With what I set up my detector with and my ground, It works really great for me. I would have to say better than the 10x12 butterfly. Of course it is not V nulled but it seems to do really well. I am able to run as high as 12 rx and 93 on disc. in three frequency. When I switch over to 2.5 single frequency, It will let me run rx 15 disc at 95 with tx boost on and has no problems. It gets really deep just like it did on the DFX.

Nice hunting Magic. Looks like you you know the V3 well. Im still using the stock programs with minimal tweeking. Im more so learning the VDI numbers of everything (on the beach). Got all the common stuff down, but still get fooled every time out. Like those cut in half pulltabs.

Thanks for the picks and story.
