Few finds I've had with E-trac....

My Artillery finds with the Etrac from one of my better spots. You can see in the larger frag where the fuse went and a small portion of the powder chamber. The fuse on the right is a Naval water cap fuse that would go in the larger frag. The brass object lower right is half of a clay pipe mould found at a nearby site. This last weekends hunt put me over the top for finding relics, that would, if sold pay for the Etrac. Needless to say I would not sell my relics as the history is worth more to me. Thanks for looking and good luck hunting.

Relics are cool but don't have that kind of stuff around here. Sure would be nice if somebody might provide the value of the stuff cuz it's not intuitively logical. When you see a coin or a peice of jewelery it's easier to see what the find might be worth. I value just holding some history but it's market value is another piece of the pie also. Jim

There are several books that give the value of relics dug as well as local dealers stating what they would pay for the relics dug. Also, go to many of the CW shows that travel the country and you will be able to see what items dug and none dug are bringing. Example: It's fair to say that the two fuses shown in the above picture will bring $100.00-150.00 each today. The large frag would bring $20.00-50.00 today. As with all "worth" questions, it's what someone will pay for it. Here are the three reasons that relics bring alot of money. They do not make them any more, there is a huge CW community that collects relics and we are coming up to the 150 year anniversary of the CW. I know one old timer that has relic hunted since the 70's. His collection is unbelievable in history and worth. Here is another fuse I found yesterday on a short hunt. Good luck hunting and Grumpy come on down to VA and I'll make sure you dig some relics.

Thanks JC sharing the pictures and commentaries on those really interesting finds.

It is so refreshing to be shown artifacts other than coins.

Even the different iron nails etc from the earlier pioneering period of US 19th century history, have significance.

I often collect such ferrous items, especially if the site has other evidence of age.

My metal detector is my 'time machine'.........My E-Trac ................TheMarshall

Marshal..... I also save the nails, pottery, glass and china shards to help date the site I'm hunting.
