Few finds from the old park today...

After about 6 weeks of this park being used as a campground for the "occupiers" protesters, the city finally came to it's senses and kicked them out.
I finally got in there today, but the amount of trash.. bottle caps, tent stakes, pull tabs, aluminum foil and such, made it tough going.
I did manage to find 3 wheat pennies dated 1909, 1920, and 1924.
I also got a heavily tarnished silver dime dated 1948, but didn't even realize it was silver until I got home.
Probably the worse silver coin I have ever found.
I recently bought a pair of Sunray Pro Gold headphones to use with the Sovereign and this was the first outing with them.
They worked great and have plenty of volume.. Now I can see the advantage of having volume control on the headphones and turning the machines volume control up to max.
Sure makes the deep ones sound off!!
Thanks for looking,
Felix

nice finds! glad they kicked those occupiers out - now you can get down to business :detecting: in the park.

felix that is a great silver find , and the 1909 was close , it could have been the SVDB

This is the 3rd 1909 for me.
The other two have the VDB, but no "S".
This one is so corroded, I don't know if it had the VDB on it or not.. can't tell.
Oh well, the search continues!!

Corroded, wheats, i found 4 in the farm field and they all were very coroded, but the 1901 Indian was in pristine condition , they say the indian is the same composition as the wheats but i do not beleive it i also found an 1862 indian and it to was not corroded, my only explination is the alloy was diffrent they must have used the old plate with nickle in it and the wheats have no nickle in them so they corroded even the 1901 is hard to pick up in disq because of its different alloy I swear they may have started the change in aloy but some how it took years to use up the old plate lets see what the Indians look like you find
