Hi All

Whats the advantages and dis-advantages of running in ferrous mode.Mine is set up standard in conduct, but i like the tones from ferrous,is it still easy to tell coins from trash?

Thanks Gary

yes its still easy ferrous can be real helpful in high iron areas when running in all metal settings no nullin just low iron burps then high tones on coins for most part smart screen placement can really help make dig or not dig desessions

My ground has a lot of iron and I like ferrous as well. Co is just too busy for me.

Ferrous mode, Smartfind screen works best for me.

Those who use Ferr know you still hear that rust in the lower right cornor.... but if you disc crown caps it really helps. I use Ferr in the field because it really rings on coppers. The other thing i dont like is because its not as stable the tones change and i find myself having to center the target.... or you might miss a good target. In the parks where the crown caps are a pain to me i prefer Cond because ive gotten used to the iron tones. Cond does tend to HANG onto a target longer than Ferr. I hunt with higher gain when using Ferr than cond as well because i want to hear evey little sound. Also i dont care much for the tone of pull tabs in Ferr. Ferr does make it easier to hunt in AM. Another advantage to the Exporers..... you can have both ways... adjust your threshold tone and you can really change it up.
