Felt Nostalgic Today.....Took The :garrett: Scorpion Gold Stinger Out Of Storage For A Hunt!:thumbup:

It's been seven years since I hunted with this metal detector. It was first released in 1990, as a detector designed to find gold nuggets. It's like 3 machines in one. Has a TR mode, non motion true all metal mode and a motion discriminate. It operated as 15kHz, the same as the AT Pro. It lacks depth, however, it is perfect for sports fields and well manicured lawns. It banks hard on gold/silver rings and our Canadian clad, especially nickle plated steel. As predicted, a found an abundance of nickels....12 of them, dimes 13 of them and several quarters. The old "Scorp" found me some nice gold rings back when I used it regularly.

I have heard these machines are really good , even though they are
old technology.There was a guy named Bugar from Indiana who
used it as his main go to machine and Swore by it as being great.
I own a pristine one but don't use it and have only air tested it and
works 100%. Had to call Sue at Garrett to get the right set up directions
as the manual I believe had printing errors on correct tuning precedures.
I've had the itch lately to spend a day with this unit just to see what
she's all about. Surely a machine that goes back in time and would love to
hear input from any Ol time users of this unit. I gotta ask John Edmonton,
HOW MANY GARRETT'S DO YOU OWN????? 2 years ago I owned 0 Garrett
machines but have added 5 to the arsenal since. Not my go to units
but enjoy grabbing one for the day every now and then....
Just Sold my At Pro but I bet you can GUESS what my FUTURE Garrett
machine will be. Also have an AT Gold brand new in the BOX!!! (never used)
