Felt like I was "Master Beach Hunter" Yesterday

Yep, as what most of us are finding out, the beaches are pretty much cleaned out. Of course theres always a chance of finding something good but it seems slim. Well yesterday I'm poking my way up high near the dunes. I noticed a about 50 sq. yard grade to the highway. This grade has been windswept. Pebbles, and trash poking up on the surface. You guys all seen this. Anyway I got in there and pulled out 20 clad coins worth a $1.08. Of course alot of bottle tops & pulltabs. Seriously this was the most fun I've had in abt 6 days. Going back today with a smaller coil. See what I missed.

It's always fun when you hit a small sweet spot :) Good luck for tomorrow!

They say those little paths where people are getting out of there car and walking the paths to the beach is where most people lose their valuables. I was out last weekend and talked to another detectorist and he was saying he finds alot more on the side street parking on the beach then the beach itself. Now me personally I am not going to go check but right now at the beaches I am hunting it is very tempting.

Working that high sand is tough duty...I dont have to tell any of you this. Its much more comfortable to just swing along on the hardpack by the water, or generally close at the towel line...getting up into the powder on those steep and grassy trails is a killer on old men with bad hearts. By gar you will all be looking for the nearest totlot to hunt within a week I'd wager! Just for something to find!
