Hunted this field for three days last summer with the X-Terra 70.

We unearthed a total of 57 old coppers. I got 31 of them. Oldest being a 1736 Farthing. Deepest coins were at about 12-14 inches. Also got a couple Half Reales. Pictured are a few of the better coppers. Enjoy your X-70 specially if its attached to a 10" round DD coil in 7.5kHz.

Beautiful site and great finds. You guys back east make me real jealous. :stars: Coins that old are unheard of here in the Heartland. Guess I am going to have to quit talking about it, and actually make a trip back there one of these days. HH Randy

Thanx Crow-Duck, It was one of those once in a lifetime hits. My buddy and I started the perimeter and got maybe 1/4 of the way around the field and we had eaten up 4 hrs. so we cut across the field and Bang! We ran right into the first Hot Spot. We pulled 11 Coppers before we had to head back to the truck. Two more days and 2 more Hot Spots later I'm telling this story to everyone.

You say you spent 3 days there. By the looks of that picture, it seems like you could spend another 30 days there. Great pic and great coins. You coined that phrase right ( it is a field of dreams ). HH.

The farmer that gave me permission to hunt the fields never told us he didn't own the farthest field from the rd. (see the google photo)all coins were found in that area. Well, the 3rd day out there and it was mid afternoon. A guy pulls up on an ATV and asks my buddy what we were looking for. Right then I knew it was all over and my buddy blurts out old coins. Well come to find out the two land owners don't get along and I suffered for it.
Or did I?

BUMMER . The little things behind the scenes a guy doesn't know about. Hunt the hell out of the land you got permission for and then , make buddy buddy with the other guy. I feel depressed for you after seeing that pic . It's like the big carrot hanging there and you can't have it. You know the old saying about honey and vinegar. Time will tell. Good luck. HH.
