Favorite Sovereign GT Coil

I'm with Ron, location plays a big part but the most versitile is the stock 10, for me. Close behind is the stock 8..........

12x10 of course for me in a big coil but with the 13" Ultimate a close second. The 15x12 for me was deeper than the stock 10" Tornado in mineralized sand but not on mineralized soil for some odd reason. I like the Ultimate better though for covering large areas faster than the 15x12. The 15x12 is lighter than the 10" Tornado though if you ditch the coil cover, but not nearly as light as the Ultimate. The stock 10" Tornado is the best stock coil I ever used on a machine. Great coil too.

In my section of the world the 13" Ultimate works quite well for me on the wet sand. It does not like the dry sand as well as the wet and when I transition from wet to dry I have to lower the sensitivity a bit to keep it steady. Its size allows me to cover more ground in the time I have to detect I have been finding coins that were buried quite deeply. Coil is light for its size. I have noticed that it is quite sensitive to EMI when I use in the area where power lines are located. I use it on the beach and in areas such as mowed fields etc. I have not yet been able to test a Sunray S-12 or the SEF coils.

With out a doubt the stock 10" best in salt water and wet sand even in farm fields incredable depth and as always PP , second SR S12 . Sold my SEF10x12 no match at all waste of money IMO .

I use the only the stock10 inch or 8 inch coils.7

I use the only the stock10 inch or 8 inch coils.

On a salt beach I've been using the 15x12 SEF. I have four other coils including the WOT to try out. Just got hung up on using the SEF because the results have been good.

General hunting the 10" For Scrubbing the S-12 and the 12x15 SEF as they tend not to dig in like the 10" For the shallow water the Sea Search coil because it a heavy little bugger and it tunes so sweet!
