Favorite program so far...I think.

I've been using the relic program, with 7.5 frequency and no tone ID (sometimes I do use it though) and I seem to really like it. It gives a nice bar for a target without a lot of confusing sounds. I like all the programs actually but sometimes I just get overwhelmed with all the data coming in and sounds. I also like the coin mode but to me relic really seems to go deep and really hits on targets....I can usually keep the gain at 15 and sometimes tx boost on. I turn down the volume a bit though.

OK...2.5khz is for silver signals 22.5 is for nickle and gold what is 7.5 good for? I see that relic program is set for all three..What are the advantages in just using 7.5?

Well after trying just the 2.5 the vdi numbers were off and it didn't really seem to do any better. The 7.5 is in the 'middle' and seems to pick up the targets just as well as either 2.5 or 22. I don't ever see a lot of difference in depth vs frequency anyway. I base my info on finding a target then before digging switching to the single frequencies to see the reaction of the detector then dig the target. For instance my wedding band is 10k and reacts better to the 7.5 then to the 22 so I think the 7.5 is a good general freq to use and locks on better than the 3 freqs.
