Looking for a new detector for parks. I sold my DFX(which i did not like) about a year ago and have been hunting primarily beaches with my excalibur 1000(using in parks as well). I am definitely partial to minelab but I am open to any suggestions. I'm mainly interested in rings and old coins (silver). Not in to relics.

Garrett AT Pro with 2-3 coils. Very nice machine. Waterproof to 10 feet. Excellent customer service. Just my two cents. GL and HH. Matt

Yes, you can get the Garrett AT Pro two-coil package, plus a Garrett Pro-Pointer in that price range. The 5X8 coil is a killer !!

Since you are already familiar with the tones of the Excal you might think about a Used Sovereign GT.
