Favorite coin I dug years ago

A one reale I believe. Found in a local park where I've found other old coins.

And photographed in a more dramatic fashion.....

Nice pictures and I really like the bottom picture. Is the reale real? That's the best reale I've ever seen.

Thanks Nancy.....I believe it is, especially since I've fouind other old coins in close proximity. It's an old park that has yeilded many old coins....I've found an 1818 large cent about 100 feet away, and a few seated dimes too.

That's so cool Dave. BIG congratulations. Have you considered putting it in a bezel and wearing it? It would be a beautiful piece.

Thanks Nancy. No I don't wear it......what I did with some of my finds is to put it in a frame with black velvet behind it to display it on a wall. I love looking at the dates to see what was going on historically at the time.

I've always loved reminiscing about the past and wondering how things were back in the day the coin was minted. It's amazing how times have changed so drastically.

Here's a picture of a reale in a bezel. I guess it's a "girl" thing.
