Faulty coil question

New member
my standard coil RC29 went bad. It won't ground balance and overloads all the time. I raised an email with tech support days ago and no response. Do I need to call them in Istanbul @ (+90) 216 642 1 444. Or is there a USA phone number?

Go to this web page. It has phone numbers and other ways to contact
the U.S. Makro support site, which is in Massachusetts.

does your coil overload full time or just over a target. Nokta/makro coils do overload once in awhile on a large non ferrous target. also the detector wont ground balance sometimes if you try to balance it over heavy mineralized ground. especially if it has a large concentration of black sands in the soil. if this happens, you can search for a better close by spot to try to balance or turn down the sensitivity pretty low then try to balance. but maybe something is wrong with your coil. I would email dilek@noktadetectors.com for help. good luck

I just sent a defective coil to them. I hope they can do something about it. My detector would non-stop overload in any mode except Beach Mode at anything below about 65 degrees.

For your overload if you want to keep hunting ...
Go to beach mode then ground balance there ....the overload will go off on beach mode.

Then switch it back to 2 tone (or three) it will go back into overload ....then drop sensitivity/gain down to to 39 and it should go out of overload.

Now hunt.

You think you are losing a lot of depth going from 70 down to 39 but you will find you really don't. It's aggravating but that is how I have to hunt when it is below 40 degrees Fahrenheit.

I understand the new production coils do not have this issue and I have thought about writing to get mine replaced again but I have had one replaced for ears snapping off and one for overload and I almost hate to ask for another replacement. Maybe I am missing stuff but I did find that coin .75 gram silver 1662 2 pence (and that is paper thin half the size of a dime) with those settings and 3 inches deep in the ground.

Just a little trick if you want to keep hunting on cold days.
