Father/Daughter interupted hunt gets silver

So I convince my 8 year old to go jewelry hunting with me this morning at the park next to her school. I bought a Compadre with the 7 inch coil for her so she was using that, while I used my Outlaw-- not really thinking I would be hunting but just checking her targets. ten minutes into hunting around a volleyball court she gets a solid hit and it turns out to be a gorgeous silver ring with an opal heart inset. High fives and smiles all around!

Ten minutes later a friend of hers rides by on a bike, they end up playing in the sand then going to her house....sigh......

I found the silver bracelet (925 clasp anyway) a few minutes later then called it a day. Just wasnt the same without the kid. Oh well, i'll take her to some old mountain homestead next time where no one will distract her with dolls and dresses!

You have really field tested that outlaw. With your help i think we can all say that the outlaw works great! Those are some nice finds.

I thought you may have left to play with the dolls, glad to hear it was your daughter, I dont think she realized what a nice find that was really nice looking stone , opal is really nice just water in silica , but it shure is nice

nice job on the jewels!

That is awsome, even short times with the child is precious.

Nothing like quality time with your kids and getting a little MD time to boot...looks like a great hunt. Does your daughter try to talk you into digging targets like mine does?

oh yeah. She tries to dig but she's not quite strong enough to get into the drier, more compact or root-filled stuff. And, of course, she wants to dig everything. So she gives me lots of practice memorizing tone, depth, and I.D. of target....I certainly know what foil and iron sound, and look, like...
