Hunted for 8 hrs today walked away with $4.56 1 junk earring and a 1950 ( d) wheatie. But the kick in the pants is I have been hunting for 1 1/2 hrs and have not found a silver coin yet , I have looked in prime locations and came up empty and today was no different not 1 time but 3 ended up with one 64 penny that rang as a dime and 2 65 quarters always close HH to all stryker
Just keep a positive attitude and keep swinging...you will eventually find the silver. I have spent over 25 hours detecting and have less then $10 in clad to show for it...but persistance finally paid off tonight with a silver ring. Man...I felt like I hit the jackpot....cant wait to try again tonorrow!
And I will tell you the better I feel about a hunt site the worst it may be. Then site I have had not faith in turn out hot. Last weekend my partner and I hit a low income housing demo site built in the late 1940's two block long and get $.12 cent in 3 hours. My brother and I did a site like it three years ago that close to $400. in 3 months 22 silver coins, 5 rings, 1--137 gram Silver chain and Cross 3 gold rings.
The last silver coin is now 47 years old. To find them we have to go to where they are. Chances are we are not going to find them. I look for Wheat penny. Find wheat find silver.
Sorry about the type-o it's 1 1/2 yrs , I have found plenty of silver rings but have hunted hard for the coin just frustrated , I have hunted homes from the 1900-1950s hunted the beaches here that date late 1800s friends walk out of there with silver but I don't I must be missing something but it will come sooner or later and everyone will know HH to all
Well first of all one needs too not forget everyones after it (silver) lol so less and less has been found lately but i think you will find it and the AT-PRO is more than capable. Good luck and happy hunting!! SAS
What you see as a prime location has probably already been looked at by a bunch of other detectorists as a prime location too!! Start looking at spots that aren't so prime in your mind and you'll likely find what you so desperately seek. Also know that the reason our modern clad appears so abundant is because nobody really cares if they lose a quarter these days. In the days of silver coins, those things could actually buy you something. Losing a quarter could represent what you could live on for a day, so you went back and looked for them!! Keep swingin', keep looking one day that great coind will come your way.
It sounds to me like the sites you have hunted, have already been cherry picked by someone else in the past. Try somewhere else. If there is silver there, and deep, the AT pro will surely find it.
Regardless of what detector you use, you have to swing your coil over some silver to find it. If not, you won't. Like John stated, maybe someone beat you to your sites and got the easy stuff. Hang in there and be patient, you'll find some.
-Years ago I found 2 silver halves on the same day 500 feet apart in a park and both were 1943, no mint mark. I still haven't matched that. best was 4 silver $.25s the same day.
Well I may have hope yet A 1922 home site that I detected before and got a 1898 IH but no silver. I hit this lot a year ago when they tore the house down then it got overgrown. Drove by there yesterday and they took the top off the empty lot to build a community garden so hopefully with the AT's ability to sift thru the remaining trash I will get
