Hi All --
I'm new to your forum, but I hope you can help me. I have a Bounty Hunter Fast Tracker Machine (I know it is a beginners machine, but for the frequency I get out, it works good). My question is that I was out last night to a school yard dating back to probably the 1930's. I was detecting with my machine. I received a strong signal. To make a long story short, I ended up with a hole about 12" deep, and as big across as an ice cream pail (I know I should never make a hole that big, but I did fill it in so you could not tell I was there) I never did find the target and gave up. This happened about 3-4 times in the same field with the same result.
I am wondering if my detector actually was detecting an actual target and I just didn't dig deep enough, or could there be something else going on. I just have a hard time believing that my cheap machine would go that deep.
Please help me if you can.
