Yes my question is in regard to to fast recover mode.when using fast recover mode do you have to stay in advanced mode or can you use this setting in the factory preset coins mode using the smartfind-quick mode Thanks for any help it is appreciated i was at a group hunt with our club yesterday and my unit was nulling out big time. from the pros on this site i get the impression that the xs has to be swept SLOW realy Slow is there anyway to get arounf this constant nulling?

Use the noise cancel button and wait for it to finish going thru it's routine. This should get rid of the problem. Sometimes you need to go to manual mode instead auto to stop this problem. I have hunted organised hunts with a 100 or more people in the field and the only time I have a problem is when someone is within 2 or 3 feet of my coil.
As far as staying in default mode, going to advanced and selecting fast will not change you out of the default coin program. Once you have selected Fast just hit the detect button unit the smart screen comes back up, it may take several pushes but it will come back and your ready to go.
