What advantages/disadvantages result from running fast & deep simultaneously? Does either affect overall depth with regard to 2D target crosshair response (not audio)? (I do understand that audio provides the best discrimination from this classroom). Just questions from a "newby". Thank you.

heya bob,
can't really say what advantages runnng both has, over any other combination.this is one of the thing i think you can learn for yourself what setting works best.
i usaully follow the general rule of deep when i want deep, fast in trash. however, at one site i did seem to have my best luck running with neither selected. not sure if it was the ground condition, or the fact that it was recently bulldozed up.so i'm sure there's times when both will be best also.. like said, just keep trying and see what you like best.
here the link to Mitchs homepage which shows what the fliters are doing when you select or not select fast or deep.

Advice well taken. Can't wait until Ohio's winter is over so I can actually get out there. Thank you.

If I ever get a chance to retire we hope to end up at some beach somewhere!
