Farm-fresh field finds

I went on a few small hunts last night and today to some fields surrounding a farmhouse. Some of the fields were cut, but the good fields weren't. Still managed a few good finds as these sites were hit very hard over the years. For coins, I got a no date KG copper, 1936 Washington quarter, 1903 Barber dime and relics found were a Mad Cap Cream Rouge tin (I thought it said Mad Cow at first), buttons, some horse tack and I was surprised to pop up the lead doll hand.....(here Sally, here's a new Lead Doll, don't chew on it like the last one) . I found 2 dozen golf balls in one of the fields and returned them to the owner, one of the labels caught my eye. You never know what you are going to find in a field, it's always interesting and my favorite spots to hunt. RonNH

RonNH, where did you get the gray cover for your coil cable? Do you find that it helps eliminate falsing or that you need it to prevent foliage from snatching at the cable?

that's a piece of foam pipe insulation 1 1/4" ID. I put it on there at the start of the season when it was muddy as I didn't want to muck up the rods. I left it on as protection as I hunt in the woods a lot and am always thrashing through brush, etc. The insulation comes open on the back and I didn't take the sticky tape off so I can adjust the rod length. It adds virtually no weight and cleans up real easy and it's held on by 2 pieces of velcro tape. Ron

it's a graet idea!..ron!..as johnny dep says!.."i like it!..simple!..easy to remember!"

At first I thought it was corrosion but after looking at it again, there is a floral design on it. Thanks for pointing that out, I don't find many knee buckles. Ron

Both are small so I always just call them all "knee buckles" rather than shoes......again, Nice Colonial relic.
