This the second video in the series we call the Gum Farm Hunt. Some cool finds and a really good time. Hope you enjoy, HH, Joe.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UogN6i-bug

Nice video, and nice finds - Looks like the corn stalks weren't sticking up too much. Congrats.

Nice video and some nice finds. Looks like a huge area and there are probably a lot more things there but looks like a lot of walking. Looks like the dirt gets turned over every year so it's hard to guess if the old stuff is deep or gets plowed up closer to the top. Thanks for making the video and good luck at this site.

Thanks guys. Doug, those corn stalks are a pain to work around. May not get plowed this year. May cut it and no till beans. Gonna call the farmer who works the land for the owner. The stuff on average is pretty deep but the Explorer does a good job in this soil. Love to see it get tilled so I can put the big coil back on. The little 8x6 sef really came in handy for sure. Hit those Quarters around 8" no problem. I was really impressed. We'll be back there soon. Thanks again for watching. HH, Joe.

enjoyed your video. i have a question about the website you mentioned. i tried historicalaerial.com but it says it is only avaiable for southern california. am i spelling it wrong. thnaks

Chuck, it's historicaerials.com. Yeah that sucks, look at the map of the US on the home page. Dark green is 1999 and older. Mostly southern California but some dark green areas in the central parts of the state. Seems like the best coverage is in the northeast US. This site is by far the best research site i've found. I have found multiple old farm sites that are just fields now. I'm a local guy here and most people recognize my last name and have no problem letting us hunt when the crops aren't in. Same goes for older homes and farmsteads that are still there. Finding those older sites is key. Got alot in the works right now, stay tuned. Check out my Youtube channel, surfman1968, for more videos soon. Good luck on your research and upcoming hunts, Joe.
