Fantastic Find (I give Tesoro and the Giffords their due)

I would like to post a pic of a find I made this afternoon in the lot next door to my house. I have searched this with various machines and still find a few coins that I have missed. This evening I decided to swing my Cutlass II U-max with a 7" coil. I did not find anything of major worth, just a memorial cent, a brass rivet (sounded off loud and clear at about 4"), a washer and then the one that shows just how good Tesoros discrimination is. I got a really good signal and dug down a couple of inches and retrieved the lock you see in the picture. I was running discrimination on 3 and figured the detector had picked up the lock (I have searched this particular area many times with target I.D. machines costing more than four times what a Cutlass sells for). Tossed the lock to the side and started to refill the hole. Decided to check the lock with the detector to make sure and got nothing but a broken chirp. Rechecked the hole and got a strong signal. Dug down to about four or five inches and out came the memorial cent you see next to the lock. The coin was directly under the lock and had been missed by every other detector I had ran over it. Now I know this is not a major find, but shows just how good Tesoros discrimination circuitry is, and that you don't have to spend a months pay to buy a good detector.

I think the older models or older design series of Tesoros discriminate bigger iron out even better than the newer HOT series. One of these days I will need to take the camera down to the play ground and take a picture to post here of the ground stakes that discriminate out cleanly with the Compadre that don't discriminate out real well with either the Cibola or Tejon.

Nice hunting and thanks for the details!
