2nd significant amount of time spent in the yard of the 1878 farm house today. Found some newer coins 3 pennies and a dime, a few rusty buckles probably from some tack, a ton of old scrap garbage. My nearest find for the day was the 2nd target i dug today.... Some sort of medal? Looks like a service flag crossed on US flag. Pretty thin, so not likely a military medal. Any ideas?

Fob with Texas Flag and US Flag?

I checked a list of state flags and that wasnt one of them. Looks like the military service flag ( red border white field, blue star)

Really awesome finds Greg, no matter if it's military or not. You did great and that's what counts. You went out and detected and found some great finds. That's what metal detecting is all about. Thanks for sharing and HH, Nancy

Really neat find Greg. I think it might be the bottom of an award or service ribbon.....................

Now that makes sense Cosmic. Thanks for the correct ID. That's so cool to find something like that. What an honor rescuing something like that out of the dirt. HH, Nancy

Very nice find. I believe it might be an American Legion watch fob. I found several on Ebay. The single star flag represents the American Legion flag.

Thanks for the info. I bet you're right on with that I.D. Daryl. It is definitely a service fob of some sort. Thanks!

Nice, thanks! I found an identical one pictured online so I will have to narrow down the year range now! Thanks guys!

Congrats on your fob. :detecting:
