New Years Day here was in the 40's and sunny so I took Aunt Tillie to a local boat launch where I was told someone lost a ring a few years back while taking his boat out of the water. The feller who told me that was with the person who lost the ring but didn't know if he ever came back to find it.

I spent close to two hours in about a foot of water but failed to find anything but clad. I'm not complaining tho, it was great to get out and I had fun.

I was searching in Pro Zero with IA on when all of a sudden, Aunt Tillie started making all kinds of noise. The VD was jumping all over the range. I picked the coil up out of the water thinking I had a leak and it continued to squawk. I switched to a different frequency and she quieted down. I left the immediate area I was hunting in and continued to hunt for about another 20 minutes with no problems.

I'm thinking that it was no leak but perhaps an underground cable nearby. I was near a bridge with no overhead power lines. Any of you had similar problems?

Thanks and HH, Mac

Do you happen to have a cell phone on you? I was told some time's when it searches for satellite it will interfere with the detector. Just a thought.

Once my AT acted crazy after putting in new batteries . The problem didn't correct itself until I but back the old ones. I tried to reset and everything. I haven't had a problem since.

Thanks Joe and Dutch,
I had both - new batteries and a cell phone. But, I've always carried the cell phone and have hunted this boat launch several times before - just not in the particular area I was in. BTW, old batteries lasted about 8.5 hours.
