Falsing

Hi Ron,i have been running mine around 8,but recently when i hit anything with the coil it goes off.i have tried another coil with same effect.might send it in for a service and have it checked out

Hi bill,I'm using the black coil and sensitivity at 8 to 8,hats probably my mistake. What would you set the sensitivity at on the black coil and the white.

Anytime I hit the ground with my 2500, the tone goes off or if I hit some stiff brush or patch of grass. I run my unit at 6.5, but if I bump anything it goes off.

The original white coil falsed easy when it hit something. The black one is more stable but I like the white one better as it's lighter and pinpoints better. Run your sensitivity at 6 or 6.5 and try that for awhile and keep the coil off the ground.

My Ace 250 also falses if I hit a stick or weeds or taller grass. You get used to it.

My 2500 will false when bumped. During a beach hunt, every time I touched the sand it would tone, I actually bounced it gently into the sand, and it rang every time. Two other hunters, one with the ACE 250 and the other with a Minelab Sovereign stated that it was normal and that their detectors would do that also. So it may not be brand or model dependent, just the technology.
