FALSING is a broad term used where your detector generates
 
Great explanation Rob! If I could ad.....black or mineralized sand between your coil and coil cover. (I've been caught on this one!)

c) Deploying the machine with the improper Frequency Mode / Ground Selection, such as running Normal 3F / Normal Soil in ferrous ground, and Salt Comp / Salt soil at the beach

Rob ca n you explain please this please, do you mean in a high mineralized ground you should n't run 3Frequency normal soil but salt?
 
I fixed the typo, which left out a word. (not) In some materialized ground salt soil or salt compensate might help. it depends on the minerals. This wasn't meant in (c) of the post.
