Falsing issue on V3i

Elton

New member
V3I Preset Coin mode. No changes from factory mode.

On my swing on left to right........ Always on the right swing I get a false beep.

Nothing I have done stops this annoying occurance.. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you !

Is there any metal in your shoes, eyelets? It could be a defect in the coil (loose wire), do you have some other coil to try?

Elton, which coil are you using?

DD 10

Yes I just now 11:20 AM tried the 950 V, and the 10" DD , Both false to the right on swing ........ I'll check footwear.......... Loafers so no eyelets..

Might be some type metal insert in the sole though.. Didn't think about that..

How about your 950? Try that Elton. You said you like it better.

LOL Well that is true Rob.. But it falses too. I don't like it that much better

Truthfully I'm starting to get the hang of the 10" DD coil Rob.... it has some advantages over the 950 once you learn the language
I have reset the delay and find that helped a lot with the 10" DD coil.. Though it's a 10"DD it is very different than the 11"DD I was used to using..

By proper do you mean tightly wrapped around Neil ?? I will check connection to make sure it is tight too..

Hmm, well we know it isn't a coil problem. So now what is happening on the end of the right hand sweep that isn't happening on the left hand sweep. Try to see if the coil is lifting higher on the right hand sweep. See if you can keep the coil flat. Try using a shorter sweep. I'm just trying to zero in on the problem.

Hi all,
First time poster on this forum, long time lurker. I know exactly what your talking about elton, foes yours do the same thing on shallow, good targets. I find mine will hit solid on coins and jewelry in both directions on shallow targets, on deeper targets, it falses or big differentials in the vdi number. I've noticed on youtube videos, guys hitting deeper targets, good targets, get that same issue of vdi's all over the place on the left to right pass.

Problem solved. There was metal in his sole. I remember finding metal in a pair of sandals I was using.

The problem with the you tube guys; Generally, that happens when the user is picking the coil up as he returns the swing, as that is the "weak direction". It's called "lift off". You have to keep it flat and quit trying to sweep too far.

At least we know it was not falsing....... the darned metal detector was detecting metal.......

I remember Carl making a hip mount for a guy and the V was picking up the box. This from ancient history.

Seems I am picking the metal up on some swings......... Some areas after changing shoes still sounded off on right swing. Nothing like when I wore the loafers.
