Fall Silver hunt

Larry (IL)

Well-known member
will be another record breaker this year in both planted coins and prizes  I will have a full report at the potluck club meeting August 28th so make an extra effort to be there. (Glen Oak Park) The entry fee and point credits might be a little different this year but that will be finalized before the meeting and we should have the final tally of accrued points/credits at meeting time so you will know what your entry fee will be.

I checked with the city and the hunt site today and everything looks real good for the hunt this year, let's just all hope for good weather which looks good on the extended weather forecast. As suggested in years past, bring your own chairs because the picnic tables will be limited and Nancy has a lunch menu in mind that will make your mouth water.........

Ahhhhh, geeeze, I think I'm blushing. Thanks Neal.

Silver Hunt Tips : The Main Event
1. Load up on the carbs the night before, not the day of, because you don't want to be sluggish.
2. Don't drink too many fluids, because you won't want to take time to pee.
And most importantly
3. Don't get dehydrated, because if you pass out, ain't nobody gonna stop to help you for 45 minutes.

"He might of collapsed on top of a token"

"Let's roll him over, so we can hunt underneath".

And stay away from the bee-hives this year.. that looked brutal last year...

Dave you role them over I'll give you the token but I'm going to empty their pouch and if they wake up you knock them out again, I'll split it with you.

It won't do any good to not drink lots of fluids, I will have to pee anyway.

I do think I'm going to eat beans, cabbage, and polish sausage the night before, that way I'll have a fighting chance.

Good luck if you follow Daryl or I. LOL!

Star you will definitely have enough "power" to last the day. I like to hunt about 30 feet behind cousin Steve. He seems to miss alot.

OMG........ that reminds me of the time Nancy hunted right behind McLucky a few years ago and kept finding targets every few steps........

I'll let Nancy tell the story.

A few years back at our Silver Hunt, I was done hunting at the Cowboy & Indians Hunt. McLucky was walking towards the pavilion and I was behind him. He is well known for finding those wonderful old nickels and I HAD to make him do some thinking. I would drop a nickel from my pouch and say, "Hey, Thanks Steve", and bend over and pick it. This went on for about 5 times and I could see the steam from Steve's ears coming out each time I would "find" that nickel that he passed up. :twodetecting: He went to check his machine to see if there was a problem and I was afraid he would change programs and mess his detector up so I fessed up and told him what I was doing. :surrender: Bless his heart, he laughed about it and now it's a long time joke each year at the Silver Hunt.:bouncy: The best thing is, we're still good friends.

HH,
Nancy
