Hit the old defunct beach up our way. Although heavily hunted for years today I got 7 wheat backs, 2 V nickles and an Indian head penny. Over the last two years got 3 silver dimes, i silver quarter there and other wheat backs. They all tend to date around the 20-40's so the V nickles and Indian head was a surprise. Am soaking those coins , one V is 1899. They where in a 20 foot shoreline area stirred up some by the recent flood. Goes to show there's still a lot there, if the detector is deep enough. Using the ltd 75 Fisher- it kicks but. Mid 40's temps, with my black sweats and jacket the sun shining really kept me pretty warm today. Im gonna hunt till theres a foot of snow down and some deep frost. Thanks, Good hunting all, CO

Os, the LTD will do well even with the coil several inches off the ground due to snow. Go for it:) We need to see pics of finds during winter. So we all don't go into withdrawals:)

CO nice detecting. Those are some fine finds. You can never tell what the hunt will be like. Hoping it will keep going with silver finds and Happy Trails......Z

I always like it when you tell what kind of detector you were using. I especially like your story because I use an F75 LTD. I love those beach hunts. Way to go!
I hope our winter stays mild for a while. I am just not ready to give it up. Went out last night and thought maybe I had discovered an inland lake. Fields in Indiana are really saturated.
