[/img] This is the tree i worked today with the 6 inch coil had worked it with the stock coil before and made good finds here also.The ring is a 14kt with tiny ice came in at 12.10 4 inches deep just made it in my nickel range the 1901 Indian came in at 12.35 12.36 with a nail very corroded at drum roll 10 inches i think it hit this hard because it is very corroded that's the second coin with the ctx that hit at 10 the one i got with the stock coil was a 10 inch clad dime.The 6 inch coil was running at 23 for sensitivity the silver ring came in at 12.35 at 4 inches the band is open broke on one side . I got one barber dime 1904 very thin came in at 12.39 6 inches deep . Also found 8 nickels around this tree most of the coins had crap by them 1900 v nickel 1924 buff the buff was only 2 inches deep go figure . The rest of the coins came in at 5 to 6 inches oh yea 34 beaver tails added to my collection it was a very nice day today hope you got out.

That is a fantastic day of hunting.

WOW! those are some awesome finds, looks like the small coil is working great. congrats

Yes explorer 2, mxt, whites 6000 series 3 and ctx with stock coil this is one of the smaller trees here but it's a oak the rest of the trees here are pines and much larger i think the indians i found around this tree are more corroded because of it being a oak.

Yes 5 inch sunray and i got at least 10 nickels from that tree with it up to 7 inches deep nice coil but the ctx just separates better and has much more stable id #s

A awesome hunt congrats.:twodetecting::minelab::thumbup:

Combine ,fast on, ferrous coin target trace and target trace pinpoint.audio normal,open screen.gain 30,Tones set at ferrous line at 24 , bin1 12.00 to 12.09 200Hz bin 2 12.10 to 12.15 1000Hz bin 3 600Hz bin 4 12.16 to 12.50 1000 Hz This allows me to here nickels and yes beaver tails with out having to look at the screen.Sensitivity at +3 19 to 23 This coil has more punch than the sunray 5 inch and better separation a lot easier to analyze signals than the stock coil and yes there are a million signals around that tree.sube

try long tones and see how you like it,,, once I got used to PP'ing with it it is the weapon of choice for me ,,,

Thanks for the info Sube. I'm gonna download that into my CTX and give it a try. Couple of question for ya. How do I set my sensitivity at +3? That one has me stumped. When should I run Ground Coin vs Ferrous Coin? How can I tell if my soil is mineralized or not? I'm very new at this detecting thing, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rod

bin 3 600hz 12.16 to 12.30 bin 4 12.31 to 12.50 sorry about that sube

Press and hold sensitivity button 9 o'clock ,select sensitivity type auto right below is auto level press right button to go up left button to go down how do i tell if my soil is hot usually lower sensitivity #s is hotter soil higher #s are milder ground as far ferrous coin and ground coin you well have to decide. I use ferrous and my soil is pretty hot according to my mxt it read from 71 to 83 ground phase in prospector mode.

Hey it worked Sube. Thanks. It doesn't actually tell you how to do that in the manual. (Does it?) Another question. Why would it bounce around like it was on fire? I'm in my front yard and it is all over the place and it's on Auto Sensitivity too. What kind of 6" coil do you have? Ok that's it for now. I hope I'm not bothering you too much. Thanks, Rod

Confused i would say to adjust down to +2 or +1 unless you have electrical problems from wires try it out at some of your sites an then you well know where to set it I can't run manual at where i hunt it just gos wild for me but auto +3 works just find.sube.Factory 6 inch and love it.
