Fairground finds for this year

sube

Well-known member
Well didn't clean it out lot of acres left maybe years i have settled on the 6 inch coil because of all the junk. One thing about this coil in MY ground it's a killer found plenty of coins with the stock coil but this baby's my go to.I have detected for 43 years and up till i got the MACHINE i only dug 3 coins at 8 inches deep, this year i dug 20 plus coins at 8 to 9 inches one at 10 but the kicker here is i have dug 8 to 9 inch coins with the 6 inch coil because of the trash the 6 stays on i move slow and this coil well analyze the ground like no other. The fact is where i live 6 inches is deep i would say 90 percent of my finds are in the 6 inch or less area so i want separation there are far more shallow coins mask by trash than 8 to 10 inches. As far as detectors i have used here are 5000d whites, 6000 series 3 whites, mxt whites,1266 fisher, and my explorer 2. The explorer 2 was a good detector but slow at analyzing i could never get it to run very hot here it probably would have found some of the coins i found this year if it could have ran hotter but no go .The ctx ran at 23 +3 most of the time which gave me my depth and as far as tones on the exp2 the ctx with my set up all i have to listen to is high tone and don't have to remember 100 different tones and #.That's why this MACHINE blows it away it's simple to use.As far as coins with nails and other junk i quit counting they all seam to have junk with them because that's all that's left it's been hunted over and over with every machine out there SEPARATION IS THE KEY this MACHINE dose it great thanks minelab. If your on the fence on this MACHINE i'm still testing it out in a couple years from now i well give a full report:devil: Heres my totals for this year from the fairground 1 cent coins 41 indians 74 wheats 5 cent coins 22 v nickles 9 buffalo 81 jeffersons 10 cent coins 1 seated 21 barber 26 mercury 3 roosevelt 25 cent coins 1 slq 3 washington 50 cent coins 1 barber 1 walker 1 sixpence coin 1 cuban coin 2 gold ring 8 silver rings 3 junk rings 1 gold partial denture and a crapload of clad DID I SAY SWEET

great finds at a cleared out area. i am getting a ctx in a few days and am hoping for some of that magic. congrats. D.

Great report sube. And congrats on making all those finds in a place that has been hunted for years and years, with all makes and models of detectors. Your finds are impressive, as listed in your post. But when you look at them separately, by denomination and type, your accomplishment is AWESOME! Congrats on all the recoveries. I agree that the 6-inch coil is amazing. And with your understanding of the CTX 3030, I have no doubt that you'll be adding even more to that list. HH Randy
