faint beeps

sometimes I get a very quiet beep I can barely hear but it makes the needle jump all the way to 9 or 10, are those beeps just deeper? Should I bother digging for those beeps?
 
It could be a deep target or a coin on end or a ring on end. It could also be a target that is just about at discrimination point you have set. I like to dig those. You never know what you are passing up. It could be junk or treasure. If you did it and it is junk swear at me...Z
