Yes, and it does well. I have two models that I use to compare all other makes and models out there. They are the XL Pro (6000 Pro XL) and the IDX Pro with modifications by "Mr. Bill" Crabtree. I prefer the XL pro for 'cruising' larger, open areas and going after deeper targets as I have usually had a little better depth of detection on coins with the XL Pro than I have the XLT. With a couple of my favorite programs the XLT is a wonderful detector, but I prefer it with an 8" or 6markg said:Has anyone ever used or compared it to other brands?

In short, while a Double-D coil MIGHT provide some level of difference in performance, I've had my greatest success with concentric coil. That includes in the very mineralized ground I tend to hunt. Now, let me add this. The models that were designed to operate at 6.59 kHz were all designed to work at their best with a concentric coil. The MXT, M6, and Vision are models that were designed with the thought of using the DD coils that were available. Different frequencies, and different operating circuitry designs.
Some like the DD coils of all sizes, but I only like a coil, ANY coil, if it does what I need it to. With the 6.59 kHz models, the 4", 6
