Hi everybody!
every time i turn off my expl i REMOVE a batteries and 2 out of 7 it gives me factory reset, when i turn it on back.
it's normal or not?

alex.

ALEX HOW TO RESET YOUR EXPLORER, maybe! I know how to FACTORY RESET the Explorer 1 but I don't know if it works the same on the 2.....FIRST, turn the machine OFF...SECOND, Open the rubber door to the battery compartment and hold the SPRING RELEASE TAB up, to be ready to pull the battery out fast with your right hand....THIRD, Push and HOLD DOWN the on button as if you are re-setting to DEFALT MODE....as the machine starts to go thru its 4 second song pull the battery out during the song about a half inch to break contact.... Do it twice to make sure the song did not end before you pulled the battery out. YOU NOW HAVE JUST RESET TO FACTORY SETTINGS!
What your machine is doing is re-setting to DEFALT MODE (Beginner Mode), not FACTORY SETTINGS when you take the battery out! My machine which is a Explorer 1 never loses the last setting I was hunting in when I take my battery out but my Buddies Explore 2 does lose his last setting (like yours) if his battery is out for a certain period of time. I do not believe he has tried what I have just told you. Another thing that is different than other machines about these Explorer's is that they NEVER have to be re-calibrated at the factory!!! There is no way to re-calibrate these machines. The re-set I just told you to do is the closet thing you can do to re-calibrate this machine. If this does not work I would call Mine Lab Techs because there may be a problem with a capacitor or circuit board. John..DIGGER BEGINNER MI

My Exp 2 does that too- (My Exp 1 did not)- losing the program you just custom-modified. I think the other comments are correct- if you pull the battery pack out you may lose the current screen you modified or created. Always SAVE that screen in one of the Save slots before turning off your detector for the day or changing batteries so you can load it up again next time you venture out.

then you can assume there is a short in the coil or coil wire. Not sure this will solve your problem but it may point you in the correct direction.
