Factory set GB question

Jharhed

New member
If factory set GB is set way too positive for mild ground, which I've heard is very common, could that cause alot of falsing?

It will make tha ground too hot.

It will loose depth.

you have to trun tha sense down.

But there are other things that
can cause falsing.

HH,

Tabdog

Normally a too positive ground balance won't result in false signals, but it will cause loss of depth and sensitivity to higher conductive targets. Preset ground balance can be so positive that, in ground as mild as we have in this area, dimes, quarters, and, half dollars won't be detected. A too negative ground balance will cause falsing, and also make hot rocks give a good response.

Thanks for the info, Tabdog, JB. I went over areas that I thought that I had thoroughly covered with my Cibola and found a few not so deep and deeper coins with my Eldorado that I recently picked up. I read a post in another forum abt factory set GB set far too positive for the mild ground we have here in Louisiana.
