Factory Included Accessories for the Sovereign GT

Probably will be buying a new Sovereign GT in the near future and trying to find out what is factory included when one buys a new GT (does the coil cover, alkaline battery pack come with it?). Various dealers offer different "freebies" and there's a lot of different after market accessories available so it gets a little confusing. So what exactly is included when one buys a new Sovereign GT without any promotional items? Thanks in advance for any insight.

You get Sov. GT, Coil cover , alkaline battery pack, and charger that is factory. Anything else after would be thrown in to make the sale depending on who you buy from.
Check with Rich http://www.backwoodsmetaldetectors.com/shop/category/new-metal-detectors/minelab/ he is a forum sponsor and everybody seems to very happy with his service.

So the hip/chest bag and the rechargable pack don't come with one? I thought you got those along with the regular battery holder and of course coil cover and 10" coil. I didn't buy mine new so I don't know for sure.

The rechargable battery pack, the alkiline battery pack, coil cover, and recharger for the battery are included.
It also comes with a stand that fits on the arm cuff that can be used if you don't mount the control box.
The chest mount bag is not included.

I got the bag but not the stand. Maybe they gave you an option, but as I said I bought mine used. I'd like to see a picture of that stand if anybody has one. I want to see how it compares to the "custom" commercial ones for sale for the Sovereign, which I don't think should cost nearly what they do. I've been working on a real light one made from a bike bottle holder but haven't decided how I want to mount that yet.

Never seen that one. Where does it mount and how? If it is a Minelab stand I believe it, because that thing looks heavy even for plastic. Don't tell me it's thick aluminum...:surprised:

Critterhunter, the stand is aluminum as fwcrawford has stated. You asked where does it mount and how......When you hip mount the electronic control box (blue box) there is the bracket under the rod that is kinda v-shaped/wedge shaped that this bracket slides in replacing where the control box was held in place. It keeps the detector from tipping over like other detectors. It is a Minelab item. Very well built...Good hunting, Clyde

Thanks for referring Richard with Backwoods Detectors. Bought a new unit from him and very happy with his service so far. Prompt email replies and better than expected complimentary accessories. It's refreshing to get exemplary service when mediocre service has become to be accepted as the norm. Highly recommend Richard and will not hesitate to deal with him again.

Yea, I've heard nothing but good things about him too.

Wow, that stand must have some weight too it then if it's thick aluminum like it looks. I can't understand why Minelab seems to build everything like it has to survive a nuclear explosion. Maybe it's got something to do with those Mad Max movies since I think they were filmed there?

I've got either a bike bottle holder (which is VERY light) or an RC plane's aluminum landing gear ($7 at my local Hobby Town) which I think might even work better for a stand and also be pretty light. Once I decide which I'm going to use I'll be posting pics and part #s in the mods forum.
