F75

:twodetecting:I feel like I've been around a Pointer sister this morning. I get my F75 today and I'M SO EXCITED. I will use my detector mostly at the beach so I hope to report on dry sand and wet sand after the weekend.. Can't hardly wait.

as the manual says it was not really designed as a wet sand unit. There are great reports of it hitting small gold in the dry sands though....should be a killer dry sand unit.
I was able to run it some in my wet sands here, but it took some setting experimentation, say "BC" process, & sens. around 60...
good luck,
Bill

Thanks Bill,
I have a CZ20 for the wet sand but I need this for the dry sand and a little below high tide mark.... Still excited.

Not at all....It's an amazing new Fisher & I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
My reply was more for other wet sand beachhunter folks, & just to teach others what the manual states is all....Like I said, it ran fine on my wet sands...
For you, I'm sure it will be a star in the dry sand....in fact, let us know how the new "jewelry process" works for ya as I have yet to have use that new feature...
HH,
Bill

Didn't take it that way Bill. I appriciate any tips you can give me. I'm still excited and at 6:30. p.m. today I should be using it. I was using the CZ20 yesterday and this lady put a 14k hollow earring in front of me . I went over it and didn't even know it was there. She laughted at me and then told me what she did. She put the earring on the coil and still didn't get a hit. Well, those days are over. As far as the wet sand, I have a feeling with a little work on my part it's going to be fine. If I have any problems Tom Dankowski is a friend and lives about two miles from me. I'll sure give him a call.
again thanks for any info.

Since i know that high gain (not only sensitivity) detectors have problems in the wet sand i would use the De mode. The JE mode has much more gain and may not work so well in the wet. On the dry sand i would give the Je mode a try. Don't worry if you can only run low sensitivity settings in the JE mode, it will still detect deep. You may have to ground balance manualy since the fast grab just GBs down to 40. If the beach is under 40 you HAVE to use manual GB to get it GB'ed.

Let us know how you did at the beach and what settings worked best for you.

Thanks Andy, and you can see by the time of this post I'm up early and getting ready to head to the beach. Went to a little new park just before dark yesteday and played with a little in je mode. I think I"m going to love this detector..I will post later today and hope to have some gold to post as well.

Tom ,The MANUAL states that this detector is not specifically designed for top performance in Salt water . In other words IT DOESN`T LIKE IT.
Why any one would even `bother` taking an F75 to the wet sand puzzles me ?? There are plenty of Detectors that work salt water beaches Amicably. EG, the Minelab Sovereign.
why waste your money on a detector that clearly is not at home on Wet sand ? its a single frequency detector M8. Its a Multi frequency detector such as the Explorer or sov that suits wet sand ,far better.
I wouldn`t waste your time flogging a dead horse on wet sand with the F75 M8,when there are speciality detectors Designed for wet beach & Land work, that will do the job much better .Then again, its your final decision .

Thanks for the information but I bought this detector for the dry sand. However I was hoping it would do fair in the wet sand and after today I have found out it will. Sure it's not a CZ or Sovereign but it will allow me to work the dry sand and walk down to the wates edge if I like. Today we had lots of sand build up but I walked down to the wet sand with waves washing on my feet. I doug two dimes at 8" and a penny at 10". I had planed to take a small gold earring but forgot. I wanted to test it on small gold in the wet sand but there is tomorrow. I have a CZ20 for the wet sand and water so this is really to find the small stuff that most miss in the dry sand. In JE mode it is likd a GoldBug . It gets the samll stuff. I got a e-mai from someon on this forum that gave me the setting for wet sand and they said it would work good. I'm happy with it.
