F75 vs. MXT

I cannot deal with so much chatter and sensitivity. Do they make a great machine that has little or no chatter?

I was out with my F75 again today. I was where civil war relics were possible. I tuned out iron and found iron. A few nails and a 4" looking spike was my tally. I had many false readings. I even lowered the sensitivity and tried the 6" coil. I must say, that I miss the simplicity and the quietness of my other detectors. I am destined to sell. I realize I'll lose a few hundred, but I will end up with a machine that I enjoy. Going deep, deeper, deepest is not my desire at the expense of listening to chatter. SO...anyone wanting a F75 that is less than a week old with a 6" coil? I'm headed to the F-5 or O-8000 or Garrett or Whites or Minelab. I'll be in Africa for a month beginning the 8th. email after the 8th is: thelinkoffice@gmail.com

How is the Garrett or Minelabs on chatter? What is the best "non-chatter" machine out there?

Checkout Whites M6, it's a silent search detector and a pleasure to use, I know I love mine. I have the stock 950 coil and a 5.3 eclipse coil for it and they cover just about every need.

I'd agree -- the M6 is worth a good look.

Yes look at the M6. I think I heard somewhere that you only loose about 1" in depth with silent search as compared to a constant threshold unit like an MXT, maybe no loss if set up properly. Whites just came out with the brand new GMZ silent search gold nugget machine!
