F75 vs GTI 2500

T-Tyrant:

I have to agree 100% with the other posts F-75 is the one.. I have used a 2500, and 1500..both good detectors..and the discrimintion is good..but so is the f-75 and depth is much better..Response is faster, GB is better..........should I go on..I don't want to appear I am bashing the Garretts.........I am not...Some people will swear that the G-Green can't be beat.....If you are a new detectorist and your not, I know that, the Garretts are really nice machines for all around hunting..They are and were designed that anyone can pick them up and have good results..Garretts have their place in the detecting world. Many good, and great finds have been found with a Garrett detector. The imaging size is terrific. The ease of operation is the same Terrific..It's just my opinion the F-75 is better, more comfortable, and deeper all around. So if you want raw power, superior depth get the F-75..ease of operation..good consistant results then get the Garrett.

I have neither, but the one I wish I had is the F75.

But you know this is a Fisher forum.

I'm sure the 2500 would get the nod over on the Garrett forum.

In my mind ,there`s nothing to compare the Garrett against the F75. the Garrett is a heavy Olde bird. Its like comparing a F16 Tomcat (F75)to C-130 Hercules .(Garrett 25000 GT )
Weight wise.
The F75 has a Far greater recovery speed and is a lot deeper seeking.
to me, there IS NO comparison, the F75 wins hands down ,and i wouldn`t insult the F75 by comparing its differences..

I have used whites, Garrett's, Fishers, . I can say with out a doubt the 2500 is the easiest to use out of them all with good depth in preset programs and awesome depth in all metal mode. You don't have page after page of programing to go through to make settings. You can use ground track or manual ground balance. And you never have to worry about sweep speed. The detector knows how fast or slow you are swinging it and make that adjustment for you. As far as Fisher detectors goes ! I have ran the coin strike and now the F5. The F5 has great recovery speed between target's as does the F75 and F70 which does give it a edge were targets are close together. I can say I've never recovered any coin deeper in my area then 8 to 9 inches with any of these detectors and lots of them 1 to 8 inches because at 7 or 8 inches you hit clay dirt which all the coins around
here stop at. As far as the F75 depth can't tell you but I've read both sides in some areas great and other areas average depends what soil your hunting in. Good luck with what ever detector you choose.

I owned and used both last summer. In my ground the F 75 was way deeper on coins,no comparision.the GTI 2500 felt a lot heavier,my arm got tired with it.The F 75 I could swing and hunt a lot longer. The F 75 has a much faster processor. The F 75 seperates nickels way better than the GTI 2500.The F 75 ID's coins correctly in my soil a lot deeper than the GTI 2500.Bill

I never had a 2500 but the F75 is easy as it get to me.Not page after page of programs .One push button One scroll knob .I can adjust any and all
settings as i walk with one hand . Some over power it but most detectors can run to hot if you let them.
OOPS i forgot the on off / volume knob that makes three

I have owned both. I just recently sold my GTI 2500 to pay for an F75. The GTI is very user friendly and all metal mode goes really deep...but thats where it stops, once you use any kind of discrimination the GTI's depth dies!! The F75 is also a lot easier to use over long periods (it is so much lighter than the Garrett). The F75 goes much deeper than the GTI in my opinion and to me depth is the name of the game. I am still pretty green on the F75 (owned it for two weeks) but I feel after getting familiar with this machine that I will be glad I traded in the Garrett.
