F75 User Opinions

Just a quick question everyone....

I have an Explorer SE which I must say is a great machine. I do however wish to know if the F75 will get Explorer type depth. I have considered getting an F75 as a back up because of it's speed and ability to pluck targets from iron ridden sites. However, I am afraid if the F75 does not do too well in the depth department that I am going to end up getting another clad killer machine like the DFX. Thanks all!

I sold my SE and got a 75. Best thing I ever did. The 75 put the fun and excitement back into detecting and more good finds in my pouch. No regrets whatsoever. It goes deep and separates targets very well.

If you do get the F75, I highly suspect the Explorer will quite promptly become your backup. HH jim tn

I've been using the SE for 5 or 6 years now. I've had the DFX, CZ3D, XS, Nautilus IIBa, XLT, Excalibur, to name a few.

Over those years the Explorers (XS/SE) has been my first choice when I stopped to hunt. That is until now. I now pick the F75 to hunt with first.

I don't necessarily think the F75 is superior in depth. Not that I'm still convinced that the SE is the deepest either. It is because the F75 is fun to use and it does get great depth. The deepest coin I have found in the soil we have here, I found with the F75.

You will love the way the TID locks on, and the weight and balance. You will love the easy to see display and battery life. You will greatly appreciate the speed of this detector compared to having to wait for the threshold to return on the SE.

Having said all that, I don't recommend replacing your SE. Sure, just like anything you buy, it has some traits that suffer in order to allow other traits that perform well. The SE is a great performer. It is just that now, so is the F75. If you can afford to have both then you will be a very content detectorist. These two compliment each other better than anything I've seen yet. You still need the Explorer for very tough ground. Also, the F75 puts your ears on overload after a few hours and you can change back to the SE to rest them. Conversely, you can start with the SE until your arm gets tired and then pick up the light F75 and continue to hunt. The F75 can cover the ground much faster when you have that need.

You will like the F75 if you decide to get one. It is not just a clad killer, it is the real deal of a detector. It can stand on it's own or be a deadly combination when matched up with the SE.

I decided on the F75 (on order now) and I am feeling better about my decision after reading these posts, although the opinions might be different on the Minelab forum!

I have an SE now so now I am torn. The SE is great but I am wondering if the F75 will be better even though it seem the SE is better in mineralized dirt than the F75 is.
