and probably time consuming, but some people like doing that kind of thing with charts & stuff
I tried some with the F75 when we were talking about differences in beaver tail tabs at the time & notching them out. My test examples were 36-40. Round tabs were 34-42 (my examples). Of course ID's can be different in the soil due to depth, position, mineralization, etc. At the time before, I also ran a bunch of coins under the F75 coil in an airtest, but that post is long since buried now....
V's/Buffalo Nickels 29-30
Fat Indian Head/Flying eagle 45
barber dime 69
Silver rosie dimes 75
Silver wash quarter 84
merc dimes 73-74
I remember a 3-ringer Minie ball reads like a 76 on the T2 and in the 50's on the F75 (58? I forget). So there's a big difference in that range.
The ID is very accurate & you can get some great "locks" or numbers that don't move so you often know what's coming. Like on Tony & his dad's Civil War camp that's all full of modern trash like tabs, caps, & zincs.....I took the T2 in there (before there was a F75) & just dug the solid 76's and dug several bullets & left the trash for those guys
The reverse holds true on non-desireable targets as a site that had shotgun shells reading 21 everytime we just skipped.....
